Papillomas are benign growths. The main reason for removal is their unaesthetic appearance, position in the décolleté area of women. The causes are related to the decrease in immunity, previously transmitted viral diseases.
Variety of papilloma
The human papilloma virus has more than 10 genotypes, but only a few are the most common.
Simple or vulgar warts
The type of formation that most commonly infects the human epidermis. The places of their localization are the scalp, neck, face, arms, body, skin folds.
The most effective methods for removing papillomas are medications; operative (with scalpel, cryo-, laser, radio methods, electrocoagulation); combined (papilloma removal followed by drug therapy to prevent relapse).
Simple nipples have a regular round or oval shape. They can rise above the surface of the epidermis by 5 millimeters or more.
Their diameter reaches 1 centimeter. The structure of the nipple is soft, homogeneous and has no internal seal. The disease is not accompanied by the manifestation of symptoms. In most situations they are not dangerous.
The method of treatment of papilloma is selected strictly individually in each case. Contraindications for a certain way of exposure should be taken into account.
For example, a patient may have an allergy to a cold and this may be an obstacle to cryotherapy.
Straight nipples
Straight growths are also called youthful. Children, as well as those who have reached puberty, are susceptible to the development of pathology.
In old age, neoplasms are very rare. Experts associate the formation of flat warts with hormonal changes. They occur as a result of past viral diseases.
Outgrowths occur in one or more forms. They do not rise above the surface of the skin. The color of the growth is bright, close to the natural skin tone.
Localization of the place: face, neck, back of arms and legs. Serious accompanying symptoms are absent. The disease does not require treatment.
Filiform warts
A characteristic feature of the formation is the presence of a thin base. For that reason, they are called lunar. These warts grow in length.
The dimensions of individual formations reach 1 centimeter. The main problem with fibrous warts is their great trauma.
A thin leg makes them vulnerable. Warts are more often localized on the neck, armpits, facial skin and décolleté.
Plantar warts
Another name for pathology is the spine. The formations are dense outgrowths. When exposed to their base, painful sensations reminiscent of a needle prick occur.
From the outside, they are easy to confuse with corns or calluses. The appearance of a single wart is often accompanied by the growth of the disease.
Genital warts
Human papilloma virus is transmitted sexually. In case of infection, warts form in the intimate area - warts in the genital area.
The place of their localization is the reproductive organs and the anal area. The disease manifests itself in the form of small body papules.
Papillomas themselves are not dangerous. Their formation is not accompanied by unpleasant symptoms, but thin skin is prone to injury. Injury to the formation leads to the addition of a secondary infection.
In addition to the listed species, there are also flat warts and internal formations. Despite the absence of accompanying symptoms, the presence of formations requires referral to a specialist and regular monitoring.
Reasons for removing formations
The reasons why papillomas come are not completely known. They most often affect the face, neck, décolleté. Experts recommend removing papillomas even in cases when they do not cause serious discomfort.
Reasons for mandatory surgery include:
- high riskpitypapillomas;
- activeheightor the development of new formations, their spread on the skin;
- repeatedpapilloma formation after drug treatment.
Removal of papillomas when they are localized on exposed parts of the body is also recommended. The fact that itching itches or itches is a cause for concern.
Effective removal methods
Modern medicine offers patients different ways to solve papillomas:
- medicinaltherapy;
- operationalintervention;
- combinedtreatment;
- methodsfolkmedicine.
The choice of therapeutic scheme is carried out by the doctor depending on the size and location of the formation.
Drug therapy
For small formations and their localization in non-traumatic places, the use of drug therapy is recommended.
Conservative treatment is very effective for fresh warts and their localization in areas with thin and sensitive skin. Medications do not always allow the formation to be completely removed.
The drugs are used alone or in combination. Most often, the specialist prescribes topical medications along with antiviral therapy.
Surgical intervention
By localizing papillomas on open areas of the skin, the appearance of unpleasant symptoms or an increased risk of injury, surgical intervention allows you to get rid of them:
- Surgicallyremoval. The easiest and most affordable way to remove clumps. It is currently rarely used in medicine. It is accompanied by a high risk of scarring.
- Electrocoagulation.The method is the removal of accumulations by the action of an electric current. High frequency current is sent to the affected area, which leads to cauterization of the treated area. The procedure is quick and painless.
- Lasercoagulation. A characteristic feature of the method is the use of a laser beam to remove accumulations. The method is not traumatic. It is characterized by rapid healing. Thanks to the laser effect and the immediate sealing of the veins of the treated area, the risk of bleeding during the procedure is minimal.
- Cryotherapy.The method is based on exposure to ultra low temperatures. The formation was frozen with liquid nitrogen. The main disadvantage of the method is the impossibility of precise control of the depth of the treated area. As a result, adjacent healthy tissues are affected.
- Radiosurgery.Papilloma removal is done by radio waves. A special device acts to create and excise the affected tissue. The method is actively used in modern medicine and is considered highly effective and painless.
The method of surgical intervention is determined depending on the size of the formations, their position and number.
Combined treatment
Most often, experts recommend the use of combined treatment. It consists in the rapid removal of existing formations and subsequent drug therapy. The combined regimen aims to prevent the risk of subsequent development of papillomas on the patient's skin.
Care after removal
To speed up the wound healing process after papilloma removal, certain recommendations must be followed.
After the operation, it is forbidden to expose the wound surface to injuries. Also, you can't stick it with a band-aid. Lack of fresh air slows down tissue regeneration. The only thing is that when you go outside, the wound can be closed with a bactericidal adhesive plaster.
Also, after the manipulation, the skin should be limited from long-term exposure to direct sunlight.
You cannot wet the wound during the day, nor apply cosmetics to it.
In addition, at least 3 weeks you will have to refuse to visit the solarium, swimming pool, swimming pool.
For the treatment of the site experts advise the use of antiseptics.
